SHADY STARFACE
Multilingual Zambian Recording Artist Bridging East and Southern Africa
"From Chiwempala Patop to the World."
Born to Tanzanian parents and raised in Maiteneke, Chiwempala, Chingola, Shady Starface is a multilingual Zambian recording artist bridging East and Southern Africa.
By 2016, he had become one of the Copperbelt's rising talents, earning a Born & Bred Awards nomination and national airplay, with collaborations including Macky 2 and Chef 187.
In 2017, his career was interrupted when he was wrongfully accused of murder and spent one year and seven months in prison, including time on death row. He was acquitted and released in 2018.
His comeback featured "Oh Dada," one of Zambia's most expensive music videos at the time, and continued collaborations with Congolese director DJ Etienne Pro, known for work with Fally Ipupa, Koffi Olomide, and Diamond Platnumz.
Beyond music, he voiced Mjomba in Zakado Cartoons, later evolving into Chief Mjomba, a fictional musician and comedian.
He performs in English, Kiswahili, Bemba, Nyanja, Kinyakyusa, DRC Swahili, and Patois-influenced styles, reflecting his cross-regional vision.
In May 2026, he released his debut album XXAFTERMATH, featuring Yo Maps, Chef 187, Celeb City, and others, surpassing 6.5 million streams and growing a digital following of over 561,000 on Facebook and 211,000 on TikTok.
